Meet Our Founders

 

 

Edwin Blanton is a native of Ironton, Missouri.  A 1995 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School he went on to earn an A.A. at Mineral Area College in 1997, and completed undergraduate degrees at Southeast Missouri State University in 2000.  He received his master of science in administration from Southeast Missouri State University in 2003.  Edwin has a strong background in both the hospitality sector working for companies such as Marriott and Disney as well as the non-profit sector with organizations such at Do Something Inc. and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.  He served in the United States Peace Corps from 2004-2005 as a Youth and Community Development Volunteer.  Among his many projects in the Peace Corps he advised local governments throughout the country, as well as coaching Special Olympics athletes.  Blanton founded Ready, Willing...Enable! in 2006, along with Jennifer Catron, whom he served with in the U.S. Peace Corps.  Blanton currently resides in San Antonio, where he focuses his energies on Ready, Willing...Enable!

     
 

Jennifer D. Catron graduated from St. Mary’s University with a bachelor of art in psychology (1997) and Trinity University with a master of art in school psychology (2000).  She returned from the United States Peace Corps in 2004 after serving as a Community and Youth Development Volunteer in the Commonwealth of Dominica, Eastern Caribbean.  As a Peace Corps Volunteer she worked with the Dominica Association of Disabled People, the National Special Olympics team and St. Luke’s Catholic School, where she taught arts and crafts.  She has worked for the Judson Independent School District as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology for seven years.  Working with teachers, parents and other invested professionals, she plans educational programming for students with disabilities.  Jennifer is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from W. B. Ray High School.  She has lived in San Antonio for 13 years.  She is active in the Mission Trails Rotary Club as well as the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of San Antonio.  In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys traveling, sewing, decorating her new house, reading and being an Auntie to her 2 year old nephew, William.
